Custom Interfaces

We are always looking for new interfaces to custom build for our clients. If you define an interface we don't have in our library and if you agree to let us resell the interfaces we create for you, we charge you only our internal development costs.

Of course, even our standard commercial rates are far lower than Oracle's standard consulting rates.

We can build either an Excel® interface which allows you to upload and download data between your local spreadsheet and the Oracle tables or a free-standing interface which moves data between a flat file on your local computer and the Oracle tables.

If your company is not in one of our local areas (Dallas, Salt Lake City) and if you don't want to spend money on consultant travel expenses, we can easily help you install your custom interfaces remotely.

We send you the format of the flat file you'll need to create, containing the data to be loaded into the standard Oracle interface tables.  This is either an extract from one of your legacy systems or perhaps a new file created using an Excel® spreadsheet.

  • You create the file containing sufficient data to perform a test load and then e-mail it to us.

  • We test the file to make sure it adheres to our format and then we communicate any difficulties to you.  If there are difficulties, we just cycle through steps 2 and 3 until we have a successful test.

  • We send you the stand-alone import program which will load your flat file into the appropriate Oracle interface tables.  Your users can run this program anytime, without any assistance from your IT staff if you so desire, or you can configure it to be scheduled and run only by IT staff.

If you follow the flat file format correctly, this whole process takes less than a day and you are up and running. (Compare this with one or more weeks (per interface) of an Oracle consultant's time to do the same thing. Conversions and interfaces are a known cash cow within the Oracle consulting ranks. We know. We used to be there.)
